Flood In india

India has a long history of experiencing floods, with various regions being prone to annual monsoon flooding. Flooding in India can be attributed to a combination of factors such as heavy rainfall, inadequate drainage systems, deforestation, urbanization, and poor infrastructure in flood-prone areas. These factors often contribute to devastating consequences for the affected communities and the country as a whole. The monsoon season, which typically occurs from June to September, brings heavy rainfall across different parts of India. While the monsoons are vital for agricultural productivity, excessive or poorly distributed rainfall can lead to flash floods and riverine flooding. The states of Assam, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and Kerala are among the most flood-prone regions in the country. Floods in India have severe impacts on human lives, infrastructure, and the economy. Thousands of people are displaced each year, losing their homes, livelihoods, and even their lives....

Can Science Rule Out God?

Introduction: The question of whether science can rule out the existence of God is a subject of ongoing debate. While science is a powerful tool for understanding the natural world, its scope is limited to empirical observations and testable hypotheses. Exploring the relationship between science and the concept of God requires careful consideration of the different realms they address. Scientific Method and the Natural World: The scientific method relies on empirical evidence, experimentation, and logical reasoning to understand the natural world. It seeks to explain phenomena through observable and measurable data. By its nature, science is restricted to investigating the physical universe and the laws that govern it. The Limitations of Science: God, as a concept, typically goes beyond the realm of empirical observation. Traditional religious beliefs often involve metaphysical claims that cannot be directly tested or measured through scientific methods. God is often described as ...

Speaking kind things to yourself is one of the most effective strategies to do this. Start by deliberately replacing negative ideas with positive affirmations whenever they appear. Say to yourself, for instance, "I am well-prepared and capable of presenting a great presentation" if you're feeling nervous before giving a presentation. By being grateful, you can increase your confidence further. Every day, take a moment to think about your accomplishments, relationships, and other good aspects of your life. Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud on March 3 remarked that “we live in an age where people are low on patience and tolerance”. The CJI made the statement while speaking about the effects of social media on society. He said that people are not willing to accept perspectives that are different from their own. He further noted that something which is said as a passing remark germinated into a theory that cannot be tested rationally. While COVID might have pushed the human race to its edge, it also presented an opportunity to ‘internationalize ideas’. “This is truly something which holds hope for us as we emerge from darkness cast on us in 2020-2021,” the CJI observed. AAP’s Shelly Oberoi elected as Delhi mayor

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)’s Shelly Oberoi, 39, was elected as the mayor as the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD)’s session for the mayoral polls was convened for the fourth time on Wednesday after the election could not be held with the earlier three sessions over two months plunging into chaos. The AAP and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have blamed each other for the delay in the polls. The BJP said the AAP did not want to elect a mayor. The AAP alleged the BJP was trying to hijack the House so it can continue to run MCD through nominated members. MCD earlier convened on January 6, January 24, and February 6 but descended into chaos each time. The election could not take place earlier due to pro-tem presiding officer Satya Sharma’s decision to allow voting rights to the nominated aldermen. Oberoi was declared the winner after she got 150 votes compared to BJP’s Rekha Gupta’s 116, days after lieutenant governor VK Saxena on Saturday approved a proposal to convene the session of MCD ...

The people don't think so," he said. Mr Stalin further said the PM's speech was "full of rhetoric", but did not have any explanation on the BBC documentary (on the 2002 Gujarat riots) or the Adani issue (allegations of stock manipulation by Adani group companies). Solving Rubik’s Cube with a Robot Hand

Human hands let us solve a wide variety of tasks. For the past 60 years of robotics, hard tasks which humans accomplish with their fixed pair of hands have required designing a custom robot for   each task . As an alternative, people have spent   many decades trying to use general-purpose robotic hardware , but with limited success due to their high degrees of freedom. In particular, the hardware we use here is not new—the robot hand we use has been around for the last 15 years—but the software approach is. Since May 2017, we’ve been trying to train a human-like robotic hand to solve the  Rubik’s Cube . We set this goal because we believe that successful training such a robotic hand to do complex manipulation tasks lays the foundation for general-purpose robots. We solved the Rubik’s Cube in simulation in July 2017. But as of July 2018, we could only  manipulate a block  on the robot. Now, we’ve reached our initial goal.

Ukraine war: Conflicting claims over embattled town of Solider

Russia's mercenary Wagner Group has claimed control over the town of Soledar in eastern Ukraine - but Kyiv says its soldiers are holding out. Russia's media carried a statement purported to be by the Wagner head, Yevgeniy Prigozhin, who said Ukrainians were now encircled in the city centre. Ukraine's Deputy Defence Minister Hanna Maliar earlier said that "heavy fighting is continuing". The claims by both sides have not been independently verified. In the reported statement late on Tuesday, Mr Prigozhin said: "Wagner units took control of the entire territory of Soledar. A cauldron has been formed in the centre of the city in which urban fighting is going on." The statement stressed that only Wagner fighters - who are not part of the Russian armed forces - were taking part "in the storming" of Soledar. Meanwhile, Ms Maliar said a few hours before that "the enemy does not pay attention to the large losses of its personnel and continues to ...
